Disney’s problem is too many people and not enough space or time.

The Anaheim theme park plans to present two “World of Color” shows a night on Paradise Bay at 9 p.m. and 10:15 p.m.

In anticipation of overwhelming crowds, Disney plans to allot the 4,000 to 6,000 premiere viewing spots for each show to fans who snap up FastPass tickets or purchase a prepaid meal.

The remaining masses will be left to find a spot on the backside of the show along the Paradise Pier boardwalk. To keep walkways open, Disney plans to discourage people from camping out all day to save their spot.

Fans are expected to queue for the opening night show on June 11 well before dawn. The biggest crowds are expected on June 14, 15, 21 and 22 — the last four days to see the show this summer for many annual pass holders.

To entertain the waiting hordes, Disney plans a nightly Glow Fest party from 6 p.m. until the park closes in the Sun Plaza and Hollywood Pictures Backlot, complete with DJ music, dancers, drummers, video montages and lots of colorful lights.

With no Electrical Parade (recently shipped to the Magic Kingdom in Florida) or other suitable nighttime entertainment, the worry is that bored visitors who have tried all the park’s limited rides and attractions will have little to do while waiting for the 10:15 p.m. show (which starts 15 minutes after the park closes).

Glow Fest, complete with colored popcorn, glowing cotton candy and Glowhito cocktails, will also serve as a consolation prize for those unlucky visitors who can’t find a spot to watch “World of Color” — if the crowds prove that unwieldy.
