Attraction

Guests can fly high over the Magic Kingdom in machine-age rockets surrounded by spinning planets on the Astro Orbiter.

•The original centerpiece of Tomorrowland, Star Jets opened on November 28, 1974 as a D-Ticket attraction, with its large, white rocket surrounded by the guest-controlled jets.

•The attraction closed in 1993, at which time the center rocket was removed, painted green camouflage, and used in the Thunder in Paradise" series which was filmed at the Disney-MGM Studios. It can now be found in the "Bone Yard" on the Studios Backstage Tour.

•The Tomorrowland attraction was completely updated, and renamed the Astro Orbiter when it reopened in 1995.

•This attraction sits 50-feet tall atop Rocket Tower Plaza, home of the Lunching Pad eatery, and is the focal point of Tomorrowland.

•The hub and spoke attraction is smiliar to two others in the Magic Kingdom - Dumbo and the Magic Carpets of Aladdin
