The Harmony Barber Shop is located on the left as you enter the Magic Kingdom, past City Hall, tucked in between the "car barn" and the Emporium. The shop opened in 1975 and is a tourist attraction that doubles as a working hair cuttery. About 400 customers visit each week, often waiting in line for haircuts that cost $19.00 for adults and $15.00 for children. Colored hair gel & pixie dust is $7.50, beard and mustache trims are $10. Baby's First Hair Cut is $18.00 and comes with a great certificate. It's an old-fashioned barber shop with a 100-year-old hat rack, a mechanical cash register of similar vintage and occasional appearances by Main Street's "Dapper Dans," (also once known as "The Humdinger's") a roving barbershop quartet. |
